Overview

Cagamas SRP Berhad ("Cagamas SRP" or "The Company"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cagamas Holdings Berhad, was established in 2011 to undertake the guarantee of residential mortgages under the Skim Rumah Pertamaku (SRP), also known as the My First Home Scheme. The Company later expanded its mandate to include the Skim Perumahan Belia (SPB) introduced by the Government of Malaysia in 2015.

In 2014, the Cagamas Group consolidated its entire mortgage guarantee business under Cagamas SRP following the business transfer from Cagamas MGP Berhad. This alignment strengthened Cagamas SRP’s position as the Group’s dedicated mortgage guarantee entity.

Building on the legacy of SRP and SPB, which concluded in April 2023 and October 2020 respectively, Cagamas SRP now offers innovative and forward-looking solutions through the First Home Mortgage Guarantee Programme (First Home MGP) and the Green Mortgage Guarantee Programme (Green MGP) introduced in 2024.

Since its inception, Cagamas SRP has collaborated closely with the Government of Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia, and participating financial institutions to enhance home ownership affordability and accessibility.

Through its suite of MGP offerings—SRP, SPB, and the First Home MGP—Cagamas SRP has to date provided guarantees for housing loans/financing amounting to RM25 billion, enabling more than 100,000 Malaysian households to purchase their first homes. With the launch of the Green MGP in 2025, the Cagamas SRP further advances Malaysia’s sustainability agenda by supporting national roadmaps and policies aimed at building a greener, more resilient housing ecosystem.

Cagamas SRP supports Malaysia’s housing aspirations by:

• Providing mortgage guarantee solutions that help financial institutions optimise capital and manage financing portfolio and credit risk effectively.
• Facilitating access to home financing for first time home buyers, including enabling eligible borrowers to obtain financing of up to 110%.
• Promoting sustainable and responsible housing finance, contributing to the long term stability of Malaysia’s housing ecosystem.
